Being invited to the feast of a ruler is a great honour. In the book of Esther we read that the great celebration of King Xerxes ran for 6 months. It included the top ranking officials of the Persian Empire in 470 BC. The common people of Susa were also invited to a 7 day banquet. This was lavish and opulent and hosted in the inner palace courts.

You are invited to the feast

We have also been invited to a wonderful feast! In Isaiah 25:6-9 we read of the feast of the King of Kings which Christians, the Bride of Christ, are looking forward to. On this day God will remove death, tears and all reproach from us. We will be covered by his righteousness.

On this day God will remove death, tears and all reproach from us. We will be covered by his righteousness.

Listen to Raymond Ndung’u explain the context and implications of this final banquet which we all eagerly await. Thanks to this our future hope can be savoured. It will strengthen us even today.
