Christ Reverses the Curse
“So let me express the teaching as best as a I can. The teaching basically is this. That God created human beings. He created Adam and Eve. They sinned in the garden and as a result of that, God judged them and he brought a curse upon them and on the ground. This leads to sickness and this leads to poverty.
When you believe in Jesus Christ, not only are you saved but you also have a reversal of the curse.
But when Jesus Christ came, the true Adam, he died on the cross for sin so that when you believe in him, not only are you saved but you also have a reversal of the curse. So you should be healthy if you activate your faith in the inheritance that He has already given you. You activate that, it brings it from the spiritual and then you also should not have poverty in your life.
Sickness & Poverty in the Bible
Now, the problem with this is that first of all we see many examples in the scriptures of people who are sick. There was a guy called Trophimus who was Paul’s friend and Paul left him sick. (2 Timothy 4:20) We also see that Paul spoke to Timothy about taking wine for his belly when Timothy was sick. (1 Timothy 5:23) And we also don’t see any indication in the Bible that the apostles themselves were rich. So what is the problem here? Well let’s think about faith.
Faith in the Bible is always believing God’s promises. If you believe truly what is wrong, you will be disappointed.

That’s 2 Corinthians 1:20. Now, what that means is that you have a new status so that at the final judgement you can have boldness. But it also means that the Holy Spirit comes into your life, you are now in the Kingdom of God.
The Future Promise of Health & Wealth
In that regard when we pray many times we get deliverance according to 2 Corinthians 1. But many times also, God doesn’t deliver us in our suffering. He gives us comfort. Why? Because there’s still one more effect of the Gospel. At the consummation, when Jesus returns, then there will be no more sickness, there will be no more poverty. Revelation 22:3 tells us that there will be no more curse. So, when we say we can activate our faith to get health and wealth it means that we are promising something God has promised at a time He hasn’t promised.
