The apostles didn’t consider themselves to be above the office of elder. Nor did they think their work finished until churches were led by elders.
The question isn’t whether the church should have leaders but who should lead. Should it be led by God-fearing or godlike men? The Bible has the answer.
Like the sheep they’re called to tend to, ministry workers easily forget the great love of the Chief Shepherd. But only that can sustain faithful ministry.
Whether you love your work or not, it is a vocation. A calling from God. It isn’t only pastors who’re called to serve God in the workplace, but all of us.
