Tope Adebola started an MA in Media Studies at Rhodes University, Grahamstown, South Africa in 2015, and has been writing her thesis since 2017. Tope has been a Christian since 1999 when, in the context of a Muslim household, she was pressed to choose between Islam and Christianity on pain of disinheritance. She’s loved the oeuvre of Sir Terry Pratchett from the tender age of nine and has read 19 of the 40 Discworld books. She is fluent in English and Dutch, and can conduct (very) small talk in Yoruba and French. Tope’s areas of interest are trauma recovery and cultural captivity in the Church. She attends the Lekki plant of Sovereign Grace Bible Church in Lagos, Nigeria.
