God rescued Codi from a dark world of addiction. Now he uses his story & God-given gifts to share the Gospel with other young people in the grip of despair
“As a rapper in South Africa I meet a lot of young people who are struggling and in desperate need of hope. I was one of those young people. It was only because of the Gospel – because of Christ – that I was able to overcome my addiction to drugs. Christ showed me a way out. I want to show others a way out.”
An instrument in His hands
Now God is using Codi as an instrument in His hands – to share the same Gospel that literally saved his life.
“It took a lot of near death experiences. I was very stubborn and did not understand the mechanics of addiction. I thought I could do it of my own strength – but I kept going back and back. At some point I stopped and asked myself is this really what I want to be? Is this really what my life is about?
The most important step is acceptance. Accepting I’m an addict. Accepting I’m a sinner. Accepting Jesus as my Lord and Saviour
I started to look for help elsewhere as I could not find it within myself. I had heard about Christ and how He could transform my life. I had tried everything else. For me it was a last option thing! But it actually worked.”
